Dr. Valeska Wells, D.O.
MEDICAL DIRECTOR & INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE EXPERT

Physician, functional and integrative medicine expert, osteopathic manipulation (OMM) practitioner, certified acupuncturist, wife, mom to four young children, and follower of Christ.
Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Texas, Valeska is a Christ-centered, family-oriented physician who has known from an early age that medicine is her calling. She studied Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University and went on to study at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. During medical school she also completed an intensive fellowship in Osteopathic Manual Therapy and she became certified in Medical Acupuncture. Following medical school, Dr. Wells joined the highly regarded residency program in Family Medicine at the Family Health Center in Waco, Texas.
During her first year of residency, Dr. Wells could not sufficiently apply or nurture her complimentary and manual therapies, and therefore she transferred to the residency program at UTMB Galveston wherein she completed Andrew Weil’s Integrative Medicine in Residency curriculum through the University of Arizona. Dr. Wells was subsequently awarded the Jean Thompson Award for Most Outstanding and Compassionate Resident, and the Nicholson Family Award for Excellence in Integrative Medicine.
Following Residency, Dr. Wells and her family became modern-day nomads as they moved full-time into a motorhome and traveled with their two children across the country, seeking the Lord’s Will for their future and working as a locum tenens physician in multiple locations. After a year on the road, God intervened through a mutual friend to bring Dr. Wells and Dr. Manso together at The Whole Health Center.
In the summer of 2014, Dr Wells purchased The Whole Health Center from Dr. Manso, and changed its name to Whole Health Center Houston. Dr Wells’ husband, Paul, has assumed the role of Director of Business Operations, leaving Dr. Wells free to focus on her patients. Their children are ages 12, 9, 6, and 3. When she’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Wells enjoys going on adventures with her family, dancing with her husband, cultivating plants, and reading.
Drawing from her extensive educational and clinical background, Dr. Wells has a keen ability to diagnose a wide array of medical conditions and to create highly individualized, effective, integrative plans for treatment. She will not apply treatments blindly or without explanation, nor will she presume you fit into a specific mold. Rather, Dr. Wells believes in educating her patients on the options and then working closely with them to achieve healing and wellness. Though she has special interests in Preventative Medicine and Women & Children’s Health, she treats men and women of all ages. Dr. Wells is also an expert in treating chronic infections such as Lyme Disease.
